In the recent times the Aryan Khan’s drug consumption case, many younger netizens reasonedhow the use of drugs is not really as bad as people make it out to be.

According to some people drugs were simply another way of stress relief for youngsters in between their stressful lives .

Although Aryan Khan has not yet been proven guilty by the judiciary in India, his case bought the mindset of many people to light.

What has substance abuse caused to the population of India

In India a large population strives under the poverty line .

Many people who can afford drug might not realize the adverse effects of drug addiction on a person who cannot afford it may be.

Even after certain drug being banned many people all across India can access drug through money this includes people under poverty line.

Many such drug addicts who cannot afford drug tend to face unfair means to get enough money for drugs, such as murders and robbery.

One of the most prevalent example of such state is rural Punjab.

Drug addiction in Punjab has led to a lot of youth being rendered jobless and addicted to opium.

This is not just the case on Punjab but with globalization access to drug has become easier for youth all over India and also a lower class of people who  are tired of their mundane stressful lives and find escape in drug that not only harms thair body but also harms their family.

Health perspective on substance abuse.

Cannabis, opioids, heroin and cocaine are amongst a few banned drugs in India.

According to a survey only 25 % drug addicts are treated for their addiction, whereas 75% drug addicts are never treated.

Over 2,300 people died due to drug overdose from 2017-19 in India.

Drug addiction is a booming issue in Indian Democracy and should be treated as seriously as possible.
