Interestingly, Priya Malik has also become the first Indian athlete to win a gold medal in World Wrestling Championship. For the fact, Priya has been maintaining her winning record, the girl from Haryana bagged gold in Khelo India and the 17th School Games in the year 2019.
Next year i.e 2020, she had 2 more gold medals in her account in National Cadet Championship at Patna and National School Games.
Soon after her massive victory in Budapest, people took social media by storm to congratulate her. Bengal CM Mamta Banerjee, Smriti Irani, Akhilesh Yadav, and Kareena Kapoor Khan, were among them.
Meanwhile, many erred in naming the event, celebrities like Bhumi Pednekar & Vatsal Seth erroneously congratulated Priya for winning the gold medal at Tokyo Olympics 2021.
